Job summary

Global Impact Group LLC is seeking Oromo Over-the-Phone Interpreters to support USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings. You will provide real-time Oromo-English telephonic interpretation with professionalism and impartiality.

This remote role offers paid training, development opportunities, and steady assignments under a federal contract. Candidates should be native or near-native in Oromo and English and eligible for Tier 3/5 security clearance.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Oromo and English, native or near-native.
• 2+ years interpreting experience (immigration, legal, NGO, government preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Oromo-speaking communities in East Africa.
• Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and impartiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Oromo-English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings.
• Interpret accurately, impartially, and with professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.
• Maintain confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
• Handle both scheduled and urgent/surge requests.
• Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
