Job summary

Plate Concepts, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to size gasketed and brazed plate & frame heat exchangers, build quotes, and process orders. You will translate customer data into technical specifications and work with Account Lead on complex accounts. Remote work is possible from the DC area.

The role emphasizes engineering fundamentals, interpretation of drawings, and clear communication with client engineers and consultants. Training on the job is provided.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Bachelor's in mechanical/chemical engineering or related field.
• No minimum years of experience; fundamentals matter.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate inquiries and gather data to size a unit (duty, GPM, ΔT, pressure).
• Log inquiries, assign RFQ numbers, request nameplate photos or specs.
• Size plate & frame exchangers with selection software and validate output.
• Create technical datasheets, drawings, and nameplates from software output.
• Prepare and assemble quote packages with specs and delivery terms.
• Verify orders against quotes and build purchase orders with supplier.
• Track orders and keep the tracking register current.
• Join calls with customers or engineers when technical questions arise.
