Job summary

Chromalox in Pittsburgh is seeking an Associate Application Engineer, Electric Heat Trace, to analyze heat trace applications and design innovative, customer-focused solutions. You will work on quotes to develop cost-effective designs and provide technical support to the sales team.

This role is primarily remote; however, you must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to attend on-site meetings and training as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience in engineering support.
• MS Office proficiency; AutoCAD/Bluebeam preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and quote premium solutions for standard and customer-specific thermal heat trace applications.
• Coordinate quotation and order entry activities with sales, engineering, and plant personnel.
• Understand markets and competition to manage quotations of competitive designs.
• Assist sales engineers with expertise in offering optimal thermal solutions.
• Determine materials and related cost requirements with engineering and purchasing.
• Manage pricing and margin targets for key accounts and new opportunities.
• Become proficient in product design and pricing tools.
• Assist customers and reps in troubleshooting equipment or applications.
• Approve and support orders; partner with design engineering and sales.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to communicate dates to customers for large orders.
