Excentium, Inc. is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to support VA’s architecture and engineering program. The role focuses on migrating to quantum-resistant cryptography and aligning with NIST PQC standards, while informing leadership on quantum risk.

Applicant must have 10+ years IT experience with 5+ years in quantum cryptography, plus DoD 8570/8140 Level III qualifications or equivalent. Remote work with occasional travel to Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in quantum computing and cryptography at large orgs or federal agencies.
• Master’s degree may substitute up to 2 years of experience.
• Experience with quantum programming languages/frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq).

Responsibilities

• Lead cryptographic modernization and post-quantum readiness efforts.
• Assess cryptographic inventories and migration priorities.
• Advise on migration to quantum-resistant algorithms and standards adoption.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
