Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a 100% remote, U.S.-based role. You will implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java, and advise on migration to post-quantum cryptography in alignment with NIST PQC standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience including quantum computing and cryptography in large orgs or government agencies
• Expertise in quantum algorithms and information theory
• Experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, QDK)
• Experience with post-quantum cryptography and NIST PQC standards
• Familiarity with cryptographic standards (NIST, ISO/IEC 19790)
• Knowledge of classical and quantum simulation tools
• Experience in project management within large organizations or government bodies

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java
• Advise on migration plans to post-quantum cryptography (PQC)
• Assess cryptographic inventory and set migration priorities
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership
• Provide policy inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards
