SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team. The role focuses on testing our custom software for utility-scale construction management, data monitoring, analytics, and reporting.

This position can be fully remote or hybrid, with regular office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon. You will coordinate with developers and product teams, write test cases, and pursue innovations in automation and AI to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering, CS or related field.
• Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python.
• 5+ years of software QA testing.

Responsibilities

• Achieve an expert level understanding of our custom software system features, the design intent, and integrations.
• Prioritize and manage testing work independently using Jira, team tools, and release timelines.
• Build understanding of intended feature behavior through self-directed exploration and direct coordination with developers and product team members.
• Coordinate functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with QA team members.
• Write comprehensive test cases covering functional scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation and AI.
• Maintain test environment and pull/run code locally (Git/GitHub).
• Provide feedback to support continuous process and product improvement.
• Serve as first point of contact and 2nd-tier support for our custom software; triage and report bugs.
