Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II to oversee day-to-day operations on active solar, storage, and high-voltage projects. The role offers full remote or hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA, or Bend, OR.

You will drive data-driven reliability, safety, and performance improvements across project fleets. Responsibilities include data consolidation, reporting, onboarding projects, and mentoring junior engineers, with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, science, or related technical field.
• 4+ years PV Performance Engineering, ASTM E2848 & IEC standards, PV data analytics.
• Experience modeling with PVsyst, PlantPredict, SAM, and similar tools.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; office tools.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
• Broad Renewable Energy industry understanding; collaboration across teams.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; problem solving and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority for all personnel on site and in the office.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data and deliver reports, tests, and analyses.
• On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s internal Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues with engineers/analysts to optimize fleet performance.
• Troubleshoot data/equipment issues and relate to workorder data for reporting.
• Lead engineers/analysts in daily operational coordination.
• Understand site design, equipment, and current project issues.
• Calculate energy losses and report impacts to stakeholders.
• Review and improve performance workflows and templates.
