Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Performance Engineer II to oversee daily operations of active solar and storage projects. This role offers remote or hybrid work with in‑office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

You will support data analytics, reporting, and performance optimization across the project fleet. The position requires a solid background in PV engineering, data analysis, and collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of PV Performance Engineering, Capacity Testing (ASTM E2848 & IEC) and PV data analytics.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, and similar tools.
• MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook proficiency.
• Programming experience: Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java.
• Travel up to 20% of time.
• Renewable energy industry experience, with service/construction focus.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and enforce safe practices across field and office teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data for reports, tests, and analyses.
• On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues with engineers to optimize fleet performance.
• Troubleshoot performance data and correlate with workorder data for reporting.
• Lead and mentor Performance Engineers and Analysts in daily activities.
• Understand site design, equipment, and current project issues.
• Analyze energy losses and performance impacts for reporting to teams.
