Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, delivering solar, storage and substation projects nationwide. The Performance Engineer II oversees day-to-day operations on active projects and can work fully remote or hybrid with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

Responsibilities include data analytics, reporting, project onboarding, and coordinating with OEMs and field teams to optimize fleet performance. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering, capacity testing and PV data analytics.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, etc.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java, and others preferred.
• Travel up to 20% of time.
• Renewable energy industry knowledge with emphasis on service and construction.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor/influence Performance Engineers & Analysts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities of active projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data, run reports and analyses.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues with equipment, vendors, and field teams to optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot performance data and correlate with workorder data for reporting.
• Lead Performance Engineers & Analysts in coordinating operational activities.
• Update and improve client reports, commissioning plans, tests, and forecasts.
• Support field teams with prioritization based on criticality and failures.
• Review performance and operations reports to identify issues.
• Develop and maintain PV system energy models and verify drawings.
