Job summary

Zillow Home Loans, part of Zillow Group, is hiring a purchase-focused Mortgage Loan Officer. You will originate home loans for customers in Zillow’s ecosystem, guiding borrowers from initial contact to funding in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage origination experience focused on purchase loans.
• Completion of the 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content.
• Physically located in and working remotely from Illinois.
• Proven success originating purchase loans in high-volume phone-based sales or agent-centric referral models.
• Strong client service orientation with consultative sales skills and deep understanding of the mortgage process.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to build trust quickly.
• Proficient with CRM, LOS, and Microsoft Office products.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate and manage purchase mortgage loans from application through closing.
• Convert opportunities into funded loans through proactive borrower consultation.
• Build relationships with customers and Zillow Preferred Agents and local partners.
• Manage active pipeline to meet service levels and funding expectations.
• Leverage Zillow tools to manage pipeline health and customer engagement.
• Coordinate with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to move loans efficiently.
• Deliver high-quality customer experience via phone, email, and text.
