Job summary

ABB Inc. in the United States is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to act as the technical lead for engineering activities in assignments, ensuring cost-efficient designs and serving as the design authority for a discipline. This is a full-remote position, with preference for candidates located in the Northern California area.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support project teams, management, partners, and customers. Required: B.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in protection & control projects for utility customers.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical one-lines, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficiency with Easy Power, SKM Powertools, ETAP, Aspen, and EMTP.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering design activities for new and existing utility, industrial, and commercial substation protection & control/automation systems.
• Develop engineering documentation and perform analyses—schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, BOMs, reports, calculations.
• Manage project materials, construction design packages, and technical issue resolution with ongoing communication to teams and customers.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices, standards, and requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
