Job summary

ABB Inc. seeks a Protection & Control Engineer to lead engineering activities for utility, industrial, and commercial substations. This is a full‑remote role, with a preference for candidates in Northern California.

You will develop designs, analyses, and documentation, and act as design authority for the discipline on projects. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; 5+ years in protection & control; ability to read one‑line diagrams and schematics; California PE license;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of protection & control experience.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and schematics.
• PE license in California required.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design activities for substations and protection & control systems.
• Develop documentation and analyses to support compliant designs.
• Coordinate materials, design packages, and issue resolution with project teams.
• Ensure safety, standards compliance, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
