Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to act as the technical lead for engineering activities on protection and control projects for utility, industrial, and commercial substations. This is a full-remote position with a preference for candidates located in Northern California.

You will develop schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, BOMs, reports, and calculations to support standards-compliant system designs, while coordinating with project teams, management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of protection & control experience for utility customers.
• PE License in California required.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering design activities for substation protection & control systems, including planning, coordination, and execution of new and retrofit designs.
• Develop engineering documentation and analyses (schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, BOMs, reports, calculations).
• Manage project materials, design packages, and issue resolution while communicating with teams and customers.
• Ensure safety practices and standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ongoing training.
