ABB is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to lead engineering activities for utility, industrial, and commercial substation systems. This full-remote role prioritizes candidates in the Northern California area and requires strong experience with one-line diagrams, schematics, and protection systems.

You will develop engineering documents, perform calculations, and manage design packages while coordinating with project teams, customers, and management.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in protection & control projects for utility customers.
• Ability to read, correctly interpret, and apply electrical one‑lines, schematics, and instruction manuals.
• Proficient software experience should include Easy Power, SKM Powertools, ETAP, Aspen, and EMTP.
• PE License in California required.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Aufgaben

• Lead and act as technical lead for engineering activities in assignments within protection & control/automation systems.
• Develop engineering documentation and perform analyses—schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, BOMs, reports, calculations.
• Manage project materials, construction design packages, and issue resolution with ongoing communication to project teams and customers.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices, industry standards, and company/customer requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
