Job summary

ECNS Global Consultants, PLLC is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer I-III to design, implement, test, and maintain protection and control systems for electrical power networks. You will apply relay protection, coordination studies, fault analysis, and power system analysis to improve reliability and safety.

The role supports remote work with 5-30% travel, offers full-time exempt employment, and a compensation range of $65,000–$185,000 per year with additional hours supplemental pay.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• FE certification preferred for II level; PE license preferred for III level.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control engineering activities including relay settings, coordination studies, fault analysis, and power system studies.
• Develop, review, and maintain calculations, drawings, reports, relay settings files, and technical documentation.
• Design, configure, test, and troubleshoot protective relays, SCADA, RTUs, networks, and automation systems.
• Support or lead commissioning, startup, FAT, SAT, outage support, and field implementation activities.
• Apply IEEE, ANSI, NERC standards and related protection practices.
• Coordinate with project teams, operations, vendors, and clients to meet project objectives.
• Lead or support technical reviews, QA/QC, and engineering deliverables.
• Provide mentorship for Engineer III as applicable.
