Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Specialist III to evaluate and resolve large property loss claims. The role requires field and remote work, rooftop inspections, and leadership to develop junior staff. You will manage settlements, reserves, and collaborate with SIU and subrogation teams while delivering outstanding customer service to Nationwide clients across the territory.

Qualifications

• Five years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience with Xactimate and writing own estimates.
• Construction background in residential/roofing/remodeling and related mitigation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• CAT duty required and willingness to travel within territory.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and resolve serious exposure and large loss claims.
• Expedite settlements and manage reserves per policy and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with Special Investigation Unit, Subrogation, and counsel as needed.
• Lead and mentor less experienced associates; provide training as assigned.
• Perform rooftop inspections safely and document findings for claim resolution.
