Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Director to lead complex, global oncology programs within a full-service CRO. This role acts as a strategic partner to sponsors, providing high-level project leadership, financial oversight, and process improvement to support execution success.

You will mentor project managers, manage budgets, timelines, and risk, and ensure quality and compliance across portfolios. Travel domestically and internationally as required, with a focus on delivering exceptional client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or health-related field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced degree preferred for higher-level responsibilities.
• Experience serving as portfolio manager for significant client studies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client liaison, delivering outstanding service and leading bid defenses.
• Oversee all aspects of trials or programs, ensuring consistency and quality across portfolios.
• Provide direction to project managers from initiation through closing activities.
• Manage study budgets, prevent scope creep, and drive change orders to completion.
• Ensure study scope is understood by functional areas and monitor billing and forecasting.
• Develop robust project plans with timelines and proactive risk management.
• Implement strategic planning, risk management, and change management within trials.
• Ensure quality management and inspection readiness (eTMF) across projects.
• Track progress with metrics and provide status updates to clients and senior management.
• Lead internal and client meetings and drive program-level strategies.
• Mentor PMs and support departmental SOP updates and performance reviews.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support projects.
