Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Clinical Study Project Manager to lead oncology studies and serve as the main client contact. You will coordinate external vendors, manage budgets, and ensure timelines and quality across global trials.

You will collaborate with clinical operations, drive change orders, oversee profitability, and mentor team members while supporting business development and bid defenses as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of clinical research experience, including at least 4 years in direct project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in science/health; advanced degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact and escalation point for assigned clinical study projects with client communication.
• Coordinate and oversee all functional services, including external vendors, to meet timelines and budget.
• Manage overall study budget, including change orders and out-of-scope activities.
• Maintain collaboration with clinical operations and assume responsibilities for all clinical activities as needed.
• Manage financial health: profitability, billable hours, and on-time billing/forecasting.
• Develop robust project plans with timelines and risk management strategies.
• Ensure quality management including eTMF readiness and CAPA processes.
• Collaborate with functional operations to support program delivery and review study documentation.
• Establish tracking metrics and KPIs; report to clients and senior management.
• Lead internal and client meetings; set scope/timelines/deliverables.
• Communicate protocol/study issues and deviations; implement corrective actions.
• Conduct presentations to diverse audiences and participate in bid defenses.
• Ensure training implementation and monitor ongoing training compliance.
• Support business development and travel to bid defenses as needed.
• Perform other duties and ensure training and time reporting compliance.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to team members.
