Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial analysis, performance tracking, and forecasting across projects. The role is fully remote with periodic site travel (up to 25%).

You will develop cost forecasts, support internal controls, and build executive-ready narratives for leadership. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in project controls or FP&A, strong Excel skills, and experience with Power BI, Python, or SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related analytical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, and/or SQL highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to modeling and interpretation.
• Experience partnering with internal stakeholders to identify objectives and collaborate to achieve outcomes.
• Highly effective communicator capable of translating complex technical data into business terms for senior leadership.
• Strong data management skills and creativity in business problem solving.
• Proven ability to build clean, professional presentation decks that influence decision-making.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter driven.
• Ability to travel as needed to fulfill responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts and monitor cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Support SOX controls documentation and compliance efforts.
• Develop analytics models to forecast future project costs using historical data.
• Assist with budget mapping and ensure fiscal responsibility across the department.
• Analyze performance trends and identify drivers of variance in cost, schedule, and resources.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and inform mitigation actions with leadership.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting systems for accurate operations reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather cost data and provide insights on trends.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Synthesize datasets into executive-ready storylines and build decks with trends and metrics.
• Translate variance drivers into clear business narratives for senior leadership.
• Engage in field visits to understand challenges and propose solutions.
• Identify risks using historical data and develop contingency plans.
• Communicate data-driven insights to cross-functional partners.
• Define and analyze key metrics to manage project health and continuous improvement.
• Lead data quality audits and resolve coding/cost discrepancies with field teams.
• Contribute analytics to lessons-learned reviews and portfolio trend reports.
