Job summary

Aston Carter seeks a Project Accountant for a contract-to-hire role. Based out of Boston, MA, this position offers fully remote work.

You will review client contracts, set up projects, and input data into the project accounting system in accordance with contract terms and corporate guidelines. Responsibilities include managing invoicing packets, supporting subconsultant payments, performing complex project closeouts, and providing analysis for audits and client inquiries.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, or business related field
• 1+ years of project billing experience within an engineering or architectural company with revenue over $75 million
• 1+ years of experience creating invoices for multi-million dollar projects
• 1+ years of change orders experience
• 1+ years of experience working with project managers to track deadlines and milestones
• Excel - Pivot tables, Vlookups, Sumif's, Index Match

Responsibilities

• Review client contract documentation and input data into the project accounting system per contract terms and corporate guidelines
• Manage invoicing processes, including creating, revising, posting, and archiving invoice packets; support subconsultant invoice payments
• Execute project closeout activities, including complex reconciliations and provide detailed analysis for inquiries
• Serve as liaison during audits, analyze work-in-process and accounts receivable, assist with software implementation/testing
• Offer guidance to peers and assist with system maintenance and troubleshooting with IT
• Adaptable across various clients and project types
