Aston Carter seeks a Senior Accountant for a remote, 12-month engagement. The role centers on general accounting, GAAP reporting, and regulatory compliance within a distributed finance team.

You will utilize Workday, Excel, and Microsoft tools to close monthly periods, prepare reconciliations, and support capital projects, while presenting complex financial concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• General accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance.
• Experience with Workday financial system.
• Experience with automation tools within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Strong Excel skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Reconcile ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare account reconciliations, cost reports, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports.
• Prepare regulatory reports and journal entries for posting to the general ledger.
• Support capital projects from accounting and reporting perspectives.
• Perform data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Conduct financial analysis to support reporting and decision-making.
• Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Summarize data and present results to various audiences.
