Job summary

University of Maryland seeks a Program Administrative Specialist for the Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC) to provide administrative, operational, and analytical support. The role analyzes client information, ensures documentation accuracy, and helps guide clients through program pathways.

Working under limited supervision, you will aid the Program Director, advisors, and statewide partners, coordinating workshops, reporting, and outreach activities while maintaining confidential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Four years of experience in administrative roles with demonstrated organizational ability.
  • Experience supporting small business programs preferred.
  • Experience with CRM or database systems (e.g., NeoSerra) and familiarity with UMD systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily MBOC operations including scheduling and intake processing.
  • Ensure compliance with MBOC, SBDC, UMD, and grant-funding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client and program records in CRM systems and reporting platforms.
  • Assess client needs, readiness, and barriers to determine program pathways.
  • Provide guidance on procurement readiness and documentation requirements.
  • Evaluate submissions for completeness and escalate when needed.
  • Identify next steps, referrals, and resources based on program requirements.
  • Prioritize cases and manage follow-up actions by urgency and impact.
  • Communicate with clients, advisors, partners, and staff to ensure coordination.
