Job summary

Counterpart, an insurtech platform, seeks a Production Focused Risk Engineer to drive underwriting performance and revenue through AI-assisted risk analysis and efficient submission triage. You will collaborate with risk engineers, brokers, and internal teams to quote, rate, and bind management and professional liability accounts.

In this role you will leverage broker networks to grow premium, provide timely quotes, and contribute to product development while traveling as needed; strong

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of underwriting experience in the respective product.
• A network of brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients in the professional liability insurance space.
• Expertise in various aspects of specialty liability products (e.g. rating procedures, policy forms, applications and coverage endorsements).
• Ability to engage with brokers to establish long-term, profitable partnerships with brokerages.
• Confidence presenting to key internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success with high performing sales and account management practices.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Flexibility for travel, when necessary (once per month as a minimum).
• College degree with relevant work experience of 4+ years.

Responsibilities

• Produce premium through proper risk analysis and effective distribution of Counterpart's product.
• Collaborate with underwriting, risk engineering, and broker teams to understand exposures of complex accounts.
• Provide underwriting guidance and responsive communication to wholesale brokers.
• Log and summarize broker engagement activity in internal systems using AI tools.
• Surface market feedback and contribute to product roadmap and underwriting strategy.
• Bind new business accounts through ongoing broker engagement and submission management.
• Represent Counterpart at broker meetings, industry conferences, and networking events.
