Job summary

Ethos is seeking experienced production engineers to assist training a language model on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks. You will manage incidents, craft postmortems, and refine on-call runbooks, SLOs, and error budgets.

Flexible part-time remote work (5-20 hours weekly) with a competitive hourly rate of $80. Start date ASAP; fully remote scheduling to fit your time zone.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Site Reliability Engineer, Incident Commander, or production/on-call engineering lead.
• Direct ownership of writing or reviewing blameless postmortems and root-cause analyses.
• Expert-level document, spreadsheet, and slide craftsmanship, with excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Train the language model on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
• Run or review production incidents to improve reliability and processes.
• Create, evaluate, and refine blameless postmortems and root-cause analyses.
• Develop on-call runbooks, severity and escalation write-ups, and SLO/error-budget reports.
• Maintain remediation action-item trackers and reliability review decks.
