Job summary

Ring & DuChateau Consulting Engineers is seeking a Processing Archivist to organize, preserve, and provide access to historical records and digital assets. You will evaluate collections, arrange materials, and maintain precise inventories in line with archival standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with researchers and records teams to support information retrieval, institutional memory, and long-term preservation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, History, Information Management, Records Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in archival processing, document management, or records administration is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to classify, describe, index, and maintain physical and digital records accurately.
• Familiarity with archival standards, metadata practices, records retention procedures, and preservation principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and electronic document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Process archival collections by organizing, describing, and arranging materials per procedures and standards.
• Create and maintain inventories, finding aids, and catalog records.
• Identify materials needing special handling and implement preservation procedures.
• Organize, digitize, and manage electronic records and digital assets.
• Develop accurate metadata and documentation to improve searchability.
• Verify completeness and proper labeling of archival materials.
• Assist researchers and stakeholders in locating relevant information.
• Follow confidentiality, privacy, and records governance policies.
• Maintain and update archival databases and document management systems.
• Identify workflow improvements to enhance processing and digitization.
• Prepare processing reports and collection statistics.
• Collaborate with records managers, librarians, and IT staff to support information management goals.
