Job summary

PhoenixTeam seeks a Business Process Reengineering Analyst to support discovery and redesign for the Department of the Interior modernization program. You will map current workflows, document bottlenecks, and design clearer future-state processes before automation.

The role requires hands-on data analysis with Python and SQL, development of SOPs and RACIs, and cross-functional collaboration to translate operational details into actionable improvements while meeting federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in process analysis, business process reengineering or related work.
• Hands-on experience using Python to prepare and analyze process data, and SQL to query, join, and validate data.
• Experience producing current-state and future-state process documentation and identifying root causes, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Experience developing process artifacts such as SOPs, workflow diagrams, RACI matrices, templates, or job aids.
• Ability to work independently through ambiguity, learn unfamiliar processes quickly, and convert findings into clear, actionable documentation.
• Must be able to successfully complete the background investigation, suitability, credentialing, and system-access requirements applicable to a Moderate Risk Public Trust position.

Responsibilities

• Review current-state workflows and document steps, handoffs, controls, bottlenecks, and root causes.
• Analyze process data with Python and SQL to measure cycle time, error rates, and workload.
• Develop future-state workflows to simplify steps and clarify roles.
• Identify automation, digital forms, integrated tools, or AI opportunities and define requirements.
• Create SOPs, workflow diagrams, RACIs, templates, and job aids for implementation.
• Support pilot testing by collecting metrics and documenting findings to refine the process.
• Maintain accurate process documentation and ensure alignment with policies, controls, accessibility needs, and federal requirements.
