Job summary

Sprezzatura is seeking an experienced Business Process Engineer / Service Designer to support a federal modernization initiative. You will analyze current processes and design optimized future-state workflows and service blueprints to guide platform configuration and development.

The role requires translating complex operations into clear, implementation-ready designs, collaborating with analysts, architects, and developers to leverage modern workflow capabilities across end-to-end processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Business Process Engineering, Service Design, BPM, or related disciplines supporting complex transformation initiatives.
• Experience designing future-state processes and workflow-driven solutions, not just documenting current processes.
• Strong hands-on experience in modeling processes and service blueprints to guide implementation.
• Proven ability to translate complex operations into clear, implementation-ready designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead business process discovery and design activities through stakeholder interviews, workshops, observation, and collaborative design sessions.
• Analyze and document current-state processes including activities, roles, data interactions, and controls.
• Design optimized future-state processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce complexity.
• Develop detailed service blueprints and workflow models for platform development teams.
• Model activities, approvals, business rules, handoffs, and escalation scenarios.
• Apply BPMN and service design techniques to create consistent artifacts for implementation.
• Map interactions across users, processes, data, systems, and services.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to reflect business requirements and regulatory needs.
• Refine designs based on feasibility, feedback, testing, and evolving needs.
• Support development and testing teams by clarifying process intent and expected outcomes.
• Maintain artifacts as the solution evolves.
