Job summary

Skylight is seeking a Technical Product Manager to guide legacy modernization efforts for a U.S. Air Force program.

You’ll partner with researchers, designers, engineers, and government stakeholders to shape vision, strategy, and roadmap, balancing architecture tradeoffs with user needs. As a fully remote, exempt position, you’ll lead cross‑functional teams, translate requirements into actionable backlogs, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to non‑technical partners while advancing agile delivery

Qualifications

• Understand lean product principles and how to apply them at various stages of the life cycle to mitigate risk and amplify learning.
• Develop a product strategy informed by the problem, prioritizing outcomes over features and defining success criteria.
• Execute the strategy by breaking down scope, maintaining a prioritized backlog with validated user stories.
• Engage in human-centered design to inform product direction.
• Manage clients and stakeholders to build trust and alignment.
• Understand agile/lean methodologies and apply them in practice.
• Possess enough technical fluency to weigh architecture and engineering tradeoffs with engineers and non-technical partners.
• Mentor and pair with government partners to carry the work forward.
• Experience on cross-functional teams in iterative delivery.
• Align work approach with Skylight's core values.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of researchers, designers, engineers, and SMEs to build high-impact products.
• Translate user and partner needs into a product strategy, roadmap, and backlog.
• Manage modernization direction, balancing architecture, integrations, and migration tradeoffs with user needs.
• Write user stories, prioritize, and build release plans.
• Collaborate with government teams to transfer digital skills and product knowledge.
• Navigate bureaucratic challenges to enable intuitive processes.
