Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Principal Sales Engineer to lead technical sales on software opportunities, focus on migrating mainframe workloads to cloud environments, and drive revenue with new and existing partnerships.

You will support Account Executives, present solutions, and mentor team members while working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The role emphasizes hands-on technical leadership and customer-focused communication.

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant sales engineering experience.
Presales or consulting background with mainframe/IBMi experience.
Experience with large-scale enterprise data migration projects.
Strong understanding of data integration, mainframe DBs and cloud-native databases.
Data replication (ETL, CDC) knowledge is a plus.
Experience migrating workloads from mainframe environments preferred.
Familiarity with data security best practices in cloud/mainframe.
Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
Excellent written and spoken communication.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
