Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Premium & Billing Analyst for a fully remote, contract-to-hire role. You will manage premium billing activities, reconcile payments, and serve as a resource for policyholders and internal teams. This 4-month onboarding equips you to handle complex accounts and collaborate across Finance and Policy Administration.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and strong Excel/ACH experience. Eligible for conversion to permanent employment after training.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in billing, premium accounting, A/R, or billing analyst roles.
• Insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ACH processing and payment reconciliation.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent written communication, mostly via email.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process and allocate premium payments (ACH, checks, and wire transfers).
• Reconcile premium balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor Due & Uncollected and suspense accounts.
• Process lapses, terminations, reinstatements, and late payments.
• Conduct premium audits during implementation and renewals.
• Set up group billing arrangements and statements.
• Research and resolve billing inquiries from policyholders, brokers, TPAs, and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Collaborate with Account Management, Customer Service, Finance, and Policy Administration teams.
• Train team members and act as subject matter expert on billing processes and systems.
