Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Premium & Billing Analyst for a fully remote, contract-to-hire role. You will manage premium billing activities, process payments, reconcile accounts, and work with brokers, policyholders, and internal teams. Training is provided to develop expertise across multiple billing systems.

The position emphasizes accuracy, strong Excel skills, and collaboration across departments with future potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of billing, premium accounting, accounts receivable, or billing analyst experience.
• Insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ACH processing and payment reconciliation.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent written communication skills; ~95% of interactions via email.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process and allocate premium payments (ACH, checks, wires).
• Reconcile premium balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor Due & Uncollected and suspense accounts.
• Process lapses, terminations, reinstatements, and late payments.
• Conduct premium audits during implementation and renewals.
• Set up and maintain group billing arrangements and statements.
• Research and resolve billing inquiries from policyholders, brokers, TPAs, internal staff.
• Analyze billing trends and identify process improvements.
• Collaborate with Account Management, Customer Service, Finance, and Policy Administration.
• Train team members and act as billing systems SME.
