Job summary

Cognex Corporation is seeking a Projects Solutions Engineer to work with Sales to understand customer requirements, develop winning project strategies, and deliver full solutions that meet feasibility and cost targets. The role involves travel to customer sites and collaboration with the Project Manager, Field Service Engineers, and third-party contractors.

Qualifications

BA degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant equivalent technical experience.
Experience in a related or high-tech industry preferred.
Adapt to flexible working hours including evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel between 30-50% of the time.
Work in production or industrial environments at customer sites.
Maintain customer confidentiality.
English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

Travel onsite as needed to gather more information to ensure design accuracy, provide technical guidance and pre-sales support.
Develop technical and commercial designs on assigned projects to differentiate Cognex and drive profitability.
Review technical risks on sales quotations and ensure viable hardware and software requirements.
Collaborate with sales and customers to document projects for handoff to project execution.
Provide mentoring and training to support project execution and certification.
Collect and disseminate competitive information and market trends to management.
Support continuous improvement after project completion through feedback and training.
