Job summary

Hirably seeks a senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the electrical power conversion architecture for a modular energy system. You will design interfaces, drives, and protection, and work with a US engineering team from remote Mexico.

Responsibilities include selecting topologies, integrating hardware with controls, and leading testing from startup through load changes. 5+ years in the field and strong English are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years developing power electronics, drives, or power conversion equipment.
• Strong knowledge of converter topologies and semiconductor choices.
• Hands-on inverter, rectifier, or motor drive design experience.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM or equivalents.
• Familiarity with thermal management, EMI/EMC, grounding and protection.
• Practical bench testing and troubleshooting of power electronics hardware.
• Advanced English for technical reviews with US engineers.
• Available full-time during US business hours, remote from Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical architecture from generator to customer interface.
• Design or specify rectifiers, inverters, DC links, motor drives, filters.
• Develop motor-generator strategies for startup, acceleration, and load following.
• Assess converter topologies and semiconductor choices (IGBT/SiC).
• Model switching behavior, losses, efficiency, and power quality.
• Specify power modules, capacitors, magnetics, busbars and sensors.
• Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, interface specs, verification plans.
• Integrate electrical systems with supervisory controls and protection.
• Evaluate grid-connected, islanded, and modular configurations.
• Lead supplier reviews, hardware bring-up, commissioning, and testing.
