Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking a senior electronics design engineer to own the electrical architecture for our energy storage systems, including inverters, BMS, and interconnect devices, from concept to high‑volume production. This is a foundational leadership role with hands‑on credibility to guide the technical direction.

You will build and mentor a team of engineers, set design standards, and drive product improvements across power, control, and communications domains, in a fast‑paced startup

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical system design, with energy storage and high‑power applications.
• Experience taking complex electrical products from architecture through production ramp.
• PCB design expertise (Altium preferred) and hands‑on bring‑up skills.
• Proficiency in transient thermal simulations in MATLAB or Python.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and scripting for test automation.
• Knowledge of control theory in power conversion.
• Experience with automotive/industrial protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Proven track record leading engineers and building teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the electrical architecture and technical direction for Base's full product line, including inverters, battery management systems, and microgrid interconnect devices.
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of electrical engineers; set high standards for design rigor, validation, and documentation.
• Drive LV embedded systems and power converter design and validation across the product portfolio.
• Collaborate firmware, mechanical, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams to move products from prototype to high‑volume production.
• Own production end of line testers.
• Debug and resolve complex system‑level electrical issues across power, control, and communication domains.
• Champion continuous product improvement—drive design iterations informed by field data, manufacturing feedback, and evolving performance targets.
