Hirably seeks a senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the electrical power conversion architecture for a modular energy system. You will design interfaces, drives, and protection, and work with a US engineering team from remote Mexico.
Responsibilities include selecting topologies, integrating hardware with controls, and leading testing from startup through load changes. 5+ years in the field and strong English are required.
Prefer to invoice as an independent contractor (RESICO)? MX$65,000 net/month.
We're hiring on behalf of a San Francisco-based early-stage hardware startup developing modular power plants that deliver both electricity and cooling from a single integrated system. Their platform combines supercritical CO2 power conversion with thermally driven cooling and is designed to run on a range of fuel and heat sources. They build compact, factory-integrated systems for critical infrastructure, where reliable power, thermal management, and deployment speed matter.
You'll own the electrical power conversion architecture connecting high-speed turbomachinery to useful electrical output. You'll develop and integrate generator interfaces, drives, rectification, inversion, protection, and power conditioning, and help define operation from startup through load changes and safe shutdown. This role combines system architecture with hands-on hardware development and testing, working remotely from Mexico with the US engineering team.
You'll help establish the engineering foundations of a new distributed energy platform. They're looking for people who take ownership across disciplinary boundaries, move comfortably between analysis and hardware, and want to see their designs built, tested, and operating in the field.
