Job summary
YO AI Labs is seeking an Audio Expert for music transcription and polyphonic analysis on an AI training project. This is a contractor role, fully remote, around 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
The role requires Python proficiency, advanced ear training, SATB notation, and experience with MusicXML and music analysis toolchains. You will transcribe polyphonic recordings, separate SATB lines, generate MusicXML, and review results for accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Python for audio analysis and transcription workflows.
- Strong ear training and knowledge of polyphonic transcription.
- Skilled in SATB notation and music theory.
- Experience with MusicXML and notation software.
- Familiar with audio analysis toolchains such as librosa/MuseScore.
- Knowledge of harmonic and rhythmic analysis.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe polyphonic recordings into accurate musical notation.
- Identify SATB vocal lines and separate parts.
- Identify pitches, rhythms, durations, rests, and re-articulations.
- Apply correct key signatures, accidentals, and engravings.
- Generate and manipulate MusicXML files.
- Use Python and audio-analysis tools to support transcription workflows.
- Validate transcriptions through musical and technical review.
