Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Qualifying Agent to oversee electronic security projects across the United States. You will manage each project lifecycle, lead field teams, and drive licensing activities to serve as a qualifying agent in multiple states.

The role is remote when not traveling, with travel approximately twice per month. Preference for candidates near a major airport in CTZ or ETZ.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in electronic security or related field.
• Willingness and ability to obtain state qualifications to serve as a Qualifying Agent.
• Practical experience with electronic security system programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and networking.
• Ability to lead technicians and coordinate complex installations both remotely and on-site.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, wiring schematics, and technical specifications.
• Proven customer-facing project or account management experience.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and distributed field teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, documentation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to travel nationwide approximately twice per month.
• Preferably located near a major airport in the Central or Eastern Time Zone.

Responsibilities

• Manage medium and large-scale electronic security projects from handoff through installation and closeout.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned customer accounts and manage expectations.
• Coordinate with customers, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Develop project schedules, labor plans, material requirements, budgets, and documentation.
• Monitor costs, labor utilization, profitability, risks, and scope changes.
• Lead technical direction for installation, programming, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Review drawings, equipment schedules, and network diagrams for accuracy.
• Support licensing and compliance efforts across states.
• Travel nationwide for site surveys, inspections, and customer meetings (~2 trips/mo).
• Collaborate with estimators on design, equipment and labor considerations.
