Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks a Planner III to join our remote team. You will perform planning tasks across residential, commercial, and public land development projects, collaborating with senior staff to deliver thoughtful concepts and permit-ready submittals.

The role emphasizes data analysis, zoning research, and producing graphics for public meetings, supporting business development and client relationships within a dynamic firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of planning or relevant experience in land development.
• AICP or ALA certification and licensure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, or ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual plans and land planning for various projects.
• Prepare site feasibility studies and reports.
• Prepare submittal documents to obtain permits and approvals.
• Research, analyze, compile and display data for planning issues.
• Research zoning codes and agency requirements for design considerations.
• Compile and assimilate reports and records for documentation and future reference.
• Prepare graphic presentations and exhibits for public meetings.
• Develop constraints map for assessment.
• Perform site plan reviews for compliance with criteria.
• Research landowner and third-party information and agreements.
