Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Pitch and Proposal Specialist to join our business development team. You will coordinate the development of pitches, proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and other client-facing materials, collaborating with lawyers and client growth professionals to deliver high-quality submissions.

The role requires strong writing, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to differentiate the firm and secure new business. A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in proposals or BD are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field required, with 3–5 years in proposals, business development, or a comparable professional services environment.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills for evaluating complex information and opportunities.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills to lead multiple proposal/pitch opportunities and coordinate stakeholders across the firm.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development and production of pitches, proposals, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, capability statements, and other client-facing materials from intake through final submission.
• Serve as a trusted business partner to practice leaders, lawyers, and client growth professionals to support business development and pursuit strategy.
• Lead proposal projects by establishing timelines, coordinating contributors, and ensuring adherence to submission requirements and deadlines.
• Translate complex legal and business concepts into clear, persuasive client-focused messaging.
