Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Coding Education Specialist to deliver physician coding education across the Revenue Cycle. You will create and present education programs, collaborate with IT and clinical leadership, and ensure ongoing training aligns with current ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS guidelines.

The role requires a Coding Certification (CCA/CCS-P/RHIA/RHIT or CPC) and about five years of physician coding experience, with travel between sites and virtual delivery options.

Qualifications

• Certification in medical coding is required (CCA, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or similar).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in physician revenue cycle coding.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS guidelines.
• Ability to design, present and evaluate coding education for coders and clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Presents coding and documentation education in-person or virtually for training and ongoing education.
• Develops educational materials, tools and presentations.
• Identifies coder educational needs and reports trends to leadership.
• Delivers one-on-one, refresher and refresher sessions with clinical staff.
