Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Coding Educator to share expert knowledge on coding guidelines and regulations across clinical specialties. You will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate education and training for coding teams daily.

The role requires proven success in coder education, auditing, or leadership, with comprehensive knowledge of ancillary, surgical, ED, and E/M coding. You will develop instructional materials, monitor QA, and train on CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS for onshore and offshore coders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Certification (CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC).
• Experience in production coding, auditing, coder education or training, or coding leadership.
• Specialty experience: Ancillary, Surgical, Emergency Medicine, E/M Coding.
• Strong verbal and written communication, guiding and corrective action.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to prepare and present training materials and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Audit, educate, and monitor coders for E/M levels, procedures, and diagnosis coding including CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS; support provider education as needed.
• Identify education needs with Coding Leadership; develop and update focused and continuing coding education programs and materials.
• Ensure Auditor production standards, QA requirements, and auditing guidelines are met.
• Provide constructive review and feedback to develop instructional materials including course plans and evaluation tools.
• Experience training onshore and offshore coders on CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS.
