Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Pharmacy Support Analyst to help eligible patients obtain medications through manufacturers' Patient Assistance Programs, using Atrix Assistance software to secure coverage for uninsured or underinsured individuals. This remote, full-time role supports cost-containment efforts and requires strong communication and healthcare knowledge.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Professional telephone and interpersonal skills.
• 2-4 years of healthcare, pharmacy, patient assistance, or related experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of medications, disease states, and treatment options (preferred).
• Experience in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare settings (preferred).
• Experience supporting low-income, underserved, or special-needs populations (preferred).
• Familiarity with social service programs or patient advocacy programs (preferred).
• Experience in high-volume environments (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify patients who may qualify for Patient Assistance Programs and determine eligibility.
• Complete, submit, and manage applications for medication assistance programs.
• Recover medication costs for eligible patients without third-party coverage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, manufacturers, and hospital staff.
• Educate patients, physicians, and staff on program requirements and resources.
• Maintain regular communication with healthcare team and pharmaceutical representatives.
• Resolve application issues, denials, and missing documentation to secure approvals.
• Research alternative assistance resources for those who don’t qualify.
• Discuss medication options with providers and patients based on program availability.
• Track and report recovered medication value for billing and performance purposes.
• Ensure patient information is handled per privacy requirements.
• Build relationships with healthcare system contacts to ensure program success.
