Job summary

Optum is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support clinicians and patients by processing refill requests, prior authorizations, and drug conversions within the Epic EMR. This remote role follows a PST schedule and requires attention to HIPAA and accuracy in documentation.

You will work with the Pharmacy Support Center, handling benefits and insurance questions, while meeting department deadlines and participating in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license.
• If residing outside of California, must hold an active license in state of residence.
• PTCB certification required.
• 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations per protocol.
• Enter prescription data and review charts in Epic EMR.
• Assist in managing pharmacy benefits and insurance formularies.
• Support therapeutic drug conversions and pharmacy wellness programs.
• Participate in quality initiatives and process improvements.
