Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Pharmacy Care Technician for a remote role in the United States. The position supports pharmacists by processing refill requests, prior authorizations, and drug conversions, using Epic EMR, and assisting with wellness initiatives.

Requirements include a CA Pharmacy Technician license, 1+ year in the field, and proficiency with Windows/Microsoft Office. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm PT with rotating Sundays; pay ranges $16-$29 per hour and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license.
• If residing outside CA, active license in home state required.
• 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Proficient with Windows and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Process medication refill requests per protocol and manage prior authorizations.
• Enter and review prescriptions in Epic EMR and maintain documentation.
• Assist in medication management and pharmacy wellness programs.
• Support team with open encounters and in-basket messages.
• Ensure accurate processing of electronic/faxed prescriptions and renewals.
