Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is redefining how a financial institution works. We seek a Software Engineer with in-depth experience in performance testing to join QA Services.

40% focus on Performance Engineering and 60% on Application Performance Tuning/SRE across online and batch platforms. You design and execute load tests, analyze REST APIs, databases, and batch processing under load, and identify bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years in Performance Engineering, SRE, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Services, event-driven systems, microservices, and batch processing performance.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or C#.
• Strong SQL and database performance tuning experience.
• Knowledge of Linux, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring/observability tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills (CPU bottlenecks, memory leaks, thread contention, GC, database issues, network latency).
• Experience in application performance tuning, reliability engineering, or SRE practices.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and modern application architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute load, stress, scalability, and endurance tests using JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Analyze performance of application, API, database, and batch processing under load.
• Identify bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvements and optimization.
• Monitor health, reliability, and performance using observability platforms such as Grafana or Splunk.
• Drive root cause analysis, performance tuning, and resiliency improvements.
• Integrate performance testing and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with development and platform teams to ensure applications meet performance, availability, and scalability goals.
