Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee daily operations on active projects. This role offers fully remote or hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

You will coordinate with internal teams, analyze PV performance data, and support reporting, commissioning plans, and client deliverables. Responsibilities include leading engineers, ensuring safety, updating client reports, and driving site optimization across utility-scale solar and energy

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
4+ Years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering or data analytics.
Experience in modeling using software like PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, and so on.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office tools.
Experience with programming languages like Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java, and others preferred.
Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
Broad understanding of the Renewable Energy industry with emphasis on Service and Construction preferred.

Experience working for a diverse multi-disciplined company.
Strong communication skills to clearly articulate vision into an executable plan and clearly communicate details and thoughts to internal/external clients.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety is the priority and enforce safe practices across field and office teams.
Collaborate with internal teams to collect data and deliver reports, acceptance tests, analyses, and deliverables.
On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s internal Performance Team platforms.
Track issues with the construction/operational fleet and share findings to optimize performance.
Troubleshoot performance data/equipment and correlate with workorder data for reporting.
Lead Performance Engineers I & II in day-to-day operational coordination.
Maintain understanding of site design, equipment, and current issues.
Analyze energy losses and system performance from outages/underperformance and report impacts.
Update reports for clients including Commissioning Plans, Test Reports, Operation reports, Vitals, forecasting, Yearly Guarantees.
Support field prioritization based on criticality and failures.
Identify issues and coordinate with OEMs, technicians, SCADA engineers, and others.
Support data analytics and software tool development.
Review reports to ensure accuracy and identify performance issues.
Manage plant performance optimization initiatives with teams and clients.
Track contractual guarantees and assess project risk and improvements.
Maintain documents/procedures for internal reference and training.
Foster relationships with Performance Engineers to ensure project success.
Lead project reviews and address client requests; escalate as needed.
Review turnover documents to analyze root causes of underperformance.
Run PV system energy models using PVsyst or other tools as needed.
Verify project drawings and layout details.
