Job summary

SOLV Energy, a leading provider of solar, battery storage and high voltage substation services, is seeking a Performance Engineer II. The role can be fully remote or hybrid with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate with internal teams, and drive performance optimization across active projects. Applicants should have a strong PV engineering background, proficiency with PV modeling tools, and excellent analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years PV performance engineering, capacity testing and PV data analytics.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Programming experience with Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Renewable energy industry experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the core focus across field and office teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data and deliver reports and analyses.
• On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s Performance Team platforms.
• Lead and mentor Performance Engineers & Analysts on daily activities.
• Analyze energy losses and system performance; report impacts to stakeholders.
• Review and ensure accuracy of performance and operation reports.
• Model PV system performance using PV modeling tools and update client reports.
• Support project reviews, risk assessments, and optimization initiatives.
