Job summary

UB Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Per Diem Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. This role is remote and focuses on accurate coding of diagnostic, procedural, and surgical information to support proper reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.

The Per Diem Medical Coder will evaluate provider documentation, resolve coding denials, support education initiatives, and ensure compliance with coding standards in a flexible, per diem arrangement.

Qualifications

• CCS, CCS-P, or CPC certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of coding experience using ICD-10 or equivalent.
• Family medicine experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Code charges from provider encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Enter charges from all sites in the CGM billing system and verify EMR data.
• Review coding denials and submit appeals as needed.
• Educate providers and staff on coding practices; participate in process improvements.
