Job summary

Wheel is seeking a People Generalist on a six-month fixed-term basis to bolster the People team during a busy period. You will own requisitions end to end, run onboarding for new hires, and audit employee files while developing job descriptions across the business.

You will report to the Head of People, handle full-cycle recruiting, maintain BambooHR records, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance throughout the engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HR experience in generalist or recruiting/HR ops
• Full-cycle recruiting ownership; not just coordination
• Hands-on HRIS and ATS experience; BambooHR familiarity is a plus
• Strong attention to detail for audits and compliance
• Comfort with confidential information and escalation when needed
• Organized and self-directed with a short ramp
• Clear written communication for job descriptions and documentation
• Knowledge of I-9, eligibility, recordkeeping and classification

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end requisitions and candidate coordination
• Run onboarding, background checks, I-9 coordination, and provisioning requests
• Audit employee files and ensure compliance with retention standards
• Write and refresh job descriptions across departments
• Maintain HR data in BambooHR and generate standard reports
• Respond to routine policy questions and escalate when needed
• Support e-signature campaigns, compliance tracking, and documentation upkeep
