Job summary

Recovery Innovations in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to assist individuals in recovery and advocate for their needs. This role emphasizes peer-led support, community integration, and empowerment in a crisis-focused setting.

The position requires a Peer Employment Training certificate and an Active Peer Support Certification where applicable, with a 7:00 AM–7:30 PM shift window and on-site work at the Franklin County Crisis Care Center.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services.
• Peer Employment Training certification required.
• Active Peer Support Certification may be required by state addenda.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and identify hopes and dreams.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Coordinate with clinical team to arrange services or resources for goal achievement.
• Complete clinical documentation and comply with regulations.
